PERIKATAN Nasional (PN) candidate Dr Rosni Adam, who is the only female candidate vying for the Titiwangsa parliamentary seat, is determined to continue the late Dr Lo’ Lo’ Mohamad Ghazali’s legacy.
Dr Rosni, who is from PAS, acknowledged that Dr Lo’ Lo’ — who won the parliamentary seat as the Islamist party candidate in the 12th general election — had set a high benchmark throughout her service.
Dr Lo’ Lo’ breathed her last on July 17, 2011.
“Dr Lo’ Lo’s legacy is very helpful to me because most of the places we go, people talked about her, especially the old generation because of her work.
“I feel relieved because I can draw on Dr Lo’ Lo’s work and her legacy,” said Rosni when met at the nomination centre in SMK Aminuddin Baki.
Dr Rosni will face Johari Abdul Ghani from Barisan Nasional (BN), Khalid Abdul Samad (Pakatan Harapan), and Parti Pejuang Tanah Air’s Khairuddin Abu Hassan.
Dr Rosni—who contested in the Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary seat in GE14 — stated that she had personal history in Titiwangsa as she had studied at a school there.,

“As the only female candidate in Titiwangsa, I am confident that Malaysian voters need to send more women to parliament, and I am also the youngest candidate here and can present fresher ideas than other candidates,” she said.
Meanwhile, Johari, who served one term before he lost in the last general election, said his continuous service record in Titiwangsa for more than 10 years — including when he was not an MP — was able to ensure his victory on November 19.
“For me there is no difference between the last election and this election. I have never stopped serving this area even though I was not a representative for four years and six months.
“I continue to work and engage with the community through the Bena Nusa Foundation.
“The only difference is that if I win, I can contribute on a larger scale by using my experience in the Federal Government,” he said.
Commenting on the challenge of meeting Khalid, who is seen as a ‘heavyweight’, Johari is of the view that anyone can offer services to the people, but a good record (of service) will be decisive when making a choice.
He said the numerous choices of candidates also meant that no party could force voters to choose them, instead they had to offer the best service to convince the voters.,
